Goodbye to Grouse Lodge
Moi,
Today was my last day at Grouse Lodge.
We have been recording with Doug some vocals for most of the songs.
Alex has finished with the distortion and now it is time for the acoustic stuff.
We tried over here recording techniques that I haven’t used before. It has been very different. I was singing in the same room where the engineer and producer were. We were using a room in the house and not the studio’s recording facilities. This way I could be a lot more relaxed. I could see green fields through the window and the sun or rain…
Birds were singing and we could hear them inside. But all these noises did not affect the recordings. Actually, the relaxed and inspiring atmosphere just improved the complete thing.
We will be recording the same way in Ibiza. Recording at Grouse Lodge was a kind of testing of equipments, microphones, headphones and me…
We have now 16 songs and the difficult task is to use only 12 or 13 for the album.
I promise to give a lot more details about each song when we have them nearly ready. At the moment what I can say is that you should be open-minded and flow with the music of “My Winter Storm”.
If I will be able to move your emotions, make you smile, head bang, cry and jump, then I will be reaching my goal. After all, music is feelings.
Torsten is already back in Ibiza preparing our place over there. We will continue working together with the songs next week.
Thanks God I will still have few more days to practise the songs on my own. I need to continue listening to my mistakes!!
Even the producer Daniel is collapsing like all of us! We are in “that breaking point” of the recordings when everything sounds excellent, but at the same time we are still looking for some extra 
I will miss Grouse Lodge and the people I met in Ireland. Something tells me that it won’t be the last time we will see each other. Thanks for you all!
I take with me a bag of memories and many photos that are not approved to be shown in public… But here goes one of the most horrifying moments of the trip where we nearly got killed by crazy cows 
In the photo looks like they were coming towards the camera. Well… they did!
Next time I will post from another island: Ibiza. España, alla vamos!

This is very nice of you to keep us intouch so much. The cow thing is funny lol. That one picture of you with the pan would be funny if you used them (pans) in your album and call it “Accoustic Pan Metal” lol. I wonder what pics were not approoved lol. I know they prolly were personal ones that you all were a bit nutty and would be embaressin to show lol. Anyway, I hope you have a good time finishin your work there and in Ibiza. Now that I saw you with that frying pan or whatever the heck it was, it ocurred to me, maybe the next time you do a contest, the prize could be a home-cooked meal by you, that you could share in a very special dinner with us!!! lol! XD
About those noises during the recording session, something similar happened to Roxette during the recording of “First Girl On The Moon”, and “Place Your Love”, from “Crash! Boom! Bang!”; they were recording the songs in a studio in Greece, and right outside, as they were working, there were two dogs fighting. The sound was so loud they couldn’t cover or disguise it with anything else, so they decided they’d leave it in the album all the same… and if you pay attention, you can listen to them at the beginning of those two songs.
And yeah, cows are insane. Specially in that side of the world.

HEY TARJA,
I’m very sad about the fact, that I did not meet you in Ireland! I had been there for one week to spend my vacancies there with my boyfriend and I hoped to get a chance to take at least one photo of you… I had been at the Grouse Lodge Studio (more accidently-my boyfriend and I astrayed there last week!), but I didn’t want to disturb someone or to trespass. So I just called the studio and asked the woman if I could visit the studio (just outside of course to take some photos). But she got rid of me. I didn’t even know the name of her but I thought: It’s worth trying!!! I was just thinking, that it must be a big accident, that I had planed my vacancies in Ireland for the same time like you planed your recording (even in Ireland like me). Unfortunately it was little different than expected. Probably I thought at that moment that the studio is available for everyone and that I can walk through the door and see you while singing or something. I just hoped to walk to the buildings of the studio and to hear your beautiful voice through an open window. Crazy, isn’t it?
I just want to inform you about all that (I don’t even know why!), even though you are probably not interested in it or you won’t read this I think. Perhaps I will someday meet you accidently or get a photo and a signature of you.
But in any case I think that I am the most unlucky fellow, because I didn’t even see you in Dublin, although I have been there at the same time like you!!!
You see, I’m not very lucky…
Nevertheless I wish you the best for your new album…

Salut Tarja… Je ne sais pas si tu parles francais mais j’éspère que tu lises mon message et que tu le prennes en compte… Tu est la persone la plus incroyable que je puisse connaître et je sui un vrai fan de toi je t’ador et tu comptes énormément pour moi… Je m’apelle david et je vis en suisse, Je suis vraiment décu que tu ne soies plus dans le groupe de Nightwish parce que tu faisais tout tu étais la meilleur et chaque note pronnoncée par ta bouche est un régal… tu est sublime Tarja… Je t’aime… Moi je joue du piano, je fais de la composition et je joue exactement le même style que toi, j’ador vraiment et je t’écoutes chanter ds mon I-pood tou les jours, tu amines ma vie… tu te rends pas compte à quel point c’est fort mais je ferai n’importe quoi pour te voir et te parler… te jouer du piano… tu est vraiment qqn d’exeptionnel je t’aime…
