Greetings from real winter wonderland Finland!
Candles and Christmas lights are creating a nice and warm atmosphere here, even though the temperature outside is rough -20° at the moment.
We have seen a beautiful winter sun in these last days only for few hours per day, so the darkness has faded away. It has been just wonderful to watch the sunlight in the trees covered by snow.
The Christmas tour has went really well so far and I have performed with Kalevi, Marzi and Markku already 6 successful Christmas concerts.
Has been a real pleasure to make music together with these brilliant and supportive musicians.
The churches have been so FULL! Somebody said I made history in Haapajärvi church few days ago, since there has never been such amount of people in their church before. The audience was sitting on the floor…unbelievable. I am honoured to be able to perform to such a wonderful audience in my home country still today.
Between my own Christmas concerts, I took part of two charity concerts in Helsinki. The last of these concerts is going to be broadcasted by YLE TV 2 on 25th of December in Finland. It was a nice evening with other Finnish artists and for our pleasure; the President Tarja Halonen delighted us with Her presence.
There is only 1 concert left to perform in Finland on this Finnish Xmas tour, but the tour won’t be over by then.
I will fly to Moscow the day after Seinäjoki concert to perform with an orchestra another kind of Christmas concert. The program of the concert will be … different 
I am very happy to return to Russia and to feel how cold it might be there…
One more thing; on my only day off in the last weeks, I went to Petrax Studios in Hollola, Finland to record vocals for one new song.
A song that you might hear pretty soon… it’s not for my album though, but a duet for one very famous and beloved band. Just to give you a clue…
I will leave the announcement for the band to make. I love to keep secrets from you!

Everything is so frozen, even car electronics tend to work slowly. But – the day you are coming, 22 Dec, significant warming is expecting to be, up to -6.
Actually, your Christmas tour showed great success. Do you know, how you do it?!

Good to finally hear some news from you! You really kept us anxious! … but I guess you were busy with the Christmas concerts and stuff, which, by the way, were absolutely amazing! That Finnish Christmas-like atmosphere and your angelic voice went perfectly together and the result was magical, as we all expected, of course.
Aw, I have to say that I’m really looking forward to hearing the new song you’ve mentioned! And with a “famous and beloved band” besides, this sounds really promising! I can’t wait either to see what the concert in Moscow will bring us new (and not just me); but I guess this is for your little personal satisfaction, to keep our eagerness alive…

It’s my favourity Ave Maria, I’ve never been a fan of Ave Maria, once I’m lutheran and you know, we don’t have Ave Marias in lutheran church. at least I’ve never heard any. :S

Since it was not allowed to bring cameras there is nearly no stuff of the concerts in the net so that this time I could not follow you through this- so I MISS YOU so much already!! You haven’t posted in decades, so I’m going to use this oportunity to tell you some things about your new songs:
Montañas De Silencio: My favorite one… XD. It has a beautiful intense atmosphere, and it reminds me of my home place: Buenos Aires, so it’s very special for me, and I hope you include this masterpiece on your album.
In For a Kill: SO GREAT!! is aggressive, but elegant, is fierce, but not blind stupid rage, it sounds dark and desperate… what more can I say? I LOVE IT!!! thank you for composing it.
Witch-Hunt: Maybe the darkest one of all your songs. I adore the “Danny- Elfmanesque” atmosphere of the composition, and the way you performed it is unique. I hope you record the song in the album with the same dramatic feeling of the halloween concert.
If You Believe: this is the one that inspires me the less from the new songs, but that can change easily after reading the lyrics. The melody is beautiful, but since is too soft (I’m I’m more of a metalhead) I’m not totally conected with the tune. I’m sure that after listening the album version, with the final lyrics, I’ll love “If You Believe” as much as all the other compositions.
The kind of balance I’d like to find on What Lies Beneath: on your next album, I’d like to find: 2 mid tempo songs (like “My Little Phoenix”), Three Heavy songs (like “Ciaran’s Well”), Three ballads (like “Our Great Divide”), and three experimental songs (weird stuff, like “Witch-Hunt”… XD).
Another thing that would be lovely is to buy a DVD with your amazing music. I’d like to have one of your “alternative classical heavy” concerts, and as an extra, your videos and your halloween performance… THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!! Marcelo has to release it… hehehehe, poor Marcelo, we’re always annoying him with this kind of things… XD

: from your Winter Storm era: I Walk Alone, Die Alive, Enough, Our Great Divide, Sing For Me. From your Nightwish era: Deep Silent Comlete (you didn’t play it here in Buenos Aires 
), Nemo, and instead of Wishmaster you could sing “Ever Dream”. I love Wishmaster, but I don’t think you should play it in everyone of your shows here, I know is not your fault, the fans want to hear the song… but they can go to hell!!!! HAHAHAHA!! I prefer to listen Ever Dream live, at least once in my life than to listen Wishamster in all your concerts.

It’s good to hear from you again, after such a long time we started getting worried ;p.
I wish I was in Finland right now, I love the cold and the snow.
Here in Holland it’s so far been only -5 in the day so not really as cold as there. Im glad the concerts went so well!
By the way a funny thing happened, I was listening to the christmas album last week and my grandmother was here (she sings too, since she was very young) and she heard it and she was like ‘I don’t understand a word she’s saying but it sounds beautiful!’
So now my grandma is hooked as well xp.
You are such an angel for doing things for charity, not many people have the good heart to do so.
Anyways, I wish you all the luck and fun with the still upcoming shows and of course a great and beautiful christmas =D.
(now you’ve made me über curious for the song!!!!)
I’m now counting the days till my own vacation starts this saturday (except for work…) and your music still pulls me through the horrible schooldays with grumpy people everywhere around me.
I just put on my headphones and walk with a smile =D

Hello Tarja,
I was looking at the pictures on your blog about the ‘church’ concerts, they are looking very moody.
The smile on your face, on these pictures, is telling me you did absolutely enjoy these performances.
It’s too bad i wasn’t there but i have no doubt i will see you LIVE performing in my country, the Netherlands.
The last time i have seen you LIVE was at Lowlands 2005, since then you were always in my heart but out of the picture …:-(
You mentioned a duet with a band, some of my friends think it will be Nightwish….PLEASE DON’T LET THAT BE TRUE….YET!!!!
It isn’t the right time for a reunion, your solo career is far more important
and your fanclubs are gaining more and more members all around the world and of course there is also the famous ‘Tarja Lunatic’ fanclub which is created by YouTubbies.
Sure, it isn’t a official fanclub but our group is growing significantly, it’s the only ‘fanclub’ with fans from every continent, except Antarctica because the penguins over there don’t have internet ….very strange indeed …hahaha.
I wish you a merry christmas with your family and friends and i hope to meet you some day somewhere in time personally, that is one of my wishes for life.

Konsertti oli mahtava kokemus. Pidin todella paljon urkujen ja sähkökitaran yhdistelmästä, vaikka mietinkin etukäteen miltä se mahtaisi kuulostaa. Oli myös mukavaa päästä seuraamaan lyömäsoittajan työskentelyä oikein lähietäisyydeltä, nuo kun yleensä ovat orkesterissa muiden soitinryhmien takana. Kaikkein parasta oli kuitenkin kuulla sinun laulavan. ♥
Odotan innolla uutta kappaletta sekä ensi vuoden konsertteja, joita ehkä teet Suomessa? Ainakin toivoisin että tekisit.

I wanted to come again but i was so sick that i even didn’t enjoy the little snow we finally had in my town last week, bad luck
Maybe you should consider to include the new songs on the new album,even as bonus tracks,”In for a kill” is my favorite of both and it sounds like a James Bond’s music; that’s cool because i know your interest for movies music.
This week end,i went to the movie for watching “Avatar” by James Cameron,amazing movie and great experience with 3D glasses,so if you have day-off, go seeing it!
Today,it’s your concert in Moscow with orchestra so i wish you all the best for tonight!

te juro que etoy… emocionado de que te puedo aunque sea escribir esta carta. soy un fanatico tuyo te sigo desde el 2007 ya se que es mucho tiempo pero escuche casi todas tus canciones de nigthwish y las tuyas de solista y te puedo asta jurar que cuando escucho tu voz por ejemplo en la cancion the regin o nemo.. o todas por que vamos a ser onesto cantas bien siempre…..
siento que buelo practicamente…, siento que por un par de minutos estoy en el cielom en el mejor de los paraisos, siento que no hay nada mas maravilloso que escuchar tu voz..
