Greetings from the road!
The driving distances on this summer tour are really long, but we are safe and sound. We had 4 drivers with us in some parts of the tour!
The first gig went fine, even though there was some excitement in the air during the concert, since it was our first show in Europe after a long time.
Plus, we have some new crewmembers taking care of us.
Many little crazy things happened during the show, but the audience seemed to enjoy our performance a lot and we managed to go through the set.
What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. I have believed in this and it has worked pretty well so far in my life. Per aspera ad astra, the wise man said.
It was lovely to return to Budapest. The rehearsals went fine, even though the place where we held the rehearsals was so tiny that we ended up sweating like in a Finnish sauna every day. It was tough for everybody. The lack of oxygen is not good for your mind …and muscles uncle Mike would say.
But the people in the rehearsals studios were so kind and very helpful. I really appreciate their efforts.
The second show finally took us to Bucharest! And as I was expecting, we really had a lot of fun with my Romanian fans. The reception has been always great in that country, so I was happy to be able to perform the music from My Winter Storm for the first time there. For many of the band members it was the first time ever to visit Vlad Dracul’s land.
The rainy day in Slovakia turned into sun. The venue in Ziar was really nice and cosy and the Slovakian audience was just wonderful for us. Very loud I might say. I got very emotional during the show since I got to see so many excited faces smiling at me. The band was also happy after the show, so we felt even more united. Thanks to the Slovakians.
We left Germany behind and travelling through Swiss and France we just arrived to Zaragoza, Spain.

Tarja, the show in Bucharest was amazing!
At the beginning of each song, I couldn’t believe that I’m actually there (in the front row, might I add) and I’m seeing all these great songs being performed live. It was an amazing experience! Thank you for everything, from performing a song for the first time, to shaking hands at the end

Thank you for taking the time to write a new comment. I have listened to your new song several times on YouTube now and even though at first it did not seem so, there is really something addictive about the song! I admire it very much, I don’t think I even need to mention that it is very beautiful, but it seems well thought-out. I can see that while it is very emotional and introspective and the interpretation is really, really intense, your approach to songwriting is (doubtlessly due to your education, but also due to your very personal way to approach things) less intuitive and the appeal of your songs often less immediate. But they do eventually grab you. I like that very much. But the best part of it is the lyrics! Your lyrics are always so fascinating and poetic! They are elegant and sophisticated, just like you! You’ve really got a way with words!
But please, don’t forget those faster songs! Your fans thirst for them! You’ve got a supergroup on your hands to help you compose all those guitar and drum parts

It was really great to see you for the first time! Your concert in Bucharest was awesome, I enjoyed it so much! However a small incident brought disappointment to me and some other fans as well. Could you, please clarify somehow what happened after the concert? Why did you left so suddenly? If you happen to see my post, please give an answer to these questions. I know, I am just a piece of dust in the desert… but your answer would be for all your Romanian fans who waited for you approximately two hours in front of the Palace Hall… and they are somehow more than a piece of dust….

Tarja I would really love to know where you get your clothes. I could not find any other way to get in touch with you but just know I am a big fan of your voice, and mostly your look. Alot of pople think I look like you, unfortunately I have no recent pic to send. Please let me know where you shop so maybe I can get some similar outfits for myself and my daughter. Hot Topic used to be a favorite shopping center but I no longer live in the area.

At moment i cannot stand Nightwish, my appoligies deep for bringing that up but not th same without you. So rather follow where ever u may take us with ur beautifull music.

Hey Tarja! How are you? It was so nice to see you in Zaragoza! Me and my friend Pedro we are from Lisbon, and it took 10 hours of trip just to see you! It was a dream of us, and we made it! When you sent us kisses, when Doug took a picture of us, and Maria sent us kisses and your set list! It was stunning! You’re so cute, so funny live! I thought you would be like “I’m diva, and no matter it takes, I’m superior”, and you’re not like that! You’re a simple person! And I love it! I want to know if Kiko Loureiro gave you the T-shirt we made for you! It said “Portugal walks with you” because here in Portugal you have a lot of fans! The picture was made by me (Carlos) but the line “Portugal walks with you” was Pedro idea!
I hope you come to Portugal someday, and I hope you’re fine! Send lots of kisses to Maria and lots of hugs to the rest of the band! Specially for Kiko and Doug!

Hay algunas personas que no entienden nada… son unos inrrespetuosos preguntando cosas que no se deben. Tarja sos la mejor lejosssss y la mas bonita lejossss jeje… soy fan tuyo desde los comienzos de nightwish y voy a seguir siendolo siempre porque la admiracion y el amor que siento por vos es muyy muyy grande.
