Interview second part
Hello People!
I am posting now from Finland.
In two days I will be back in the studio working with the guys.
I cannot wait to return.
Anyway, my spirit is there. So I want to show you a photo of the day when Daniel Pieper made the interview.
Of course, after a great barbecue!
Interview part 2
Daniel Pieper: Recently the German label Nuclear Blast released a 20th Anniversary album with guest singers. You are the only artist in the album that is not signed with Nuclear Blast and also the only Lady.
What it meant for you to take part of it?
Tarja: It was very kind of NB to ask me to participate in this album and it was a great honour for me to do it. It gave me an opportunity to thank the label and the people working there for their respect and professionalism of the past years while I was signed with them.
I knew the composer of the song “In the Picture”, Viktor Smolski, since ´98 when I toured with Rage in Europe as their opening act. This project brought me many nice memories from those times.
The song reminds me of the sounds from the ´80s. I recorded my vocal parts in Argentina. It was fun in the studio! It is very different to what I am preparing at the moment.
DP: How are your vocals going to be in “My Winter Storm”?
T: I am facing a huge challenge on this album as a singer and as an artist. Every song is like a painting where I will try to use my voice to deliver different colours and feelings. Like in a movie, where you have the images to tell a story, in my album the story you will hear through the songs. I will be a kind of storyteller. You will have the freedom to create images in your mind as you feel them.
I am going to play with different ways to use my voice, but mainly I am planning to use much more my lyrical voice than in the last 4 years.
DP: Are you planning to present “My Winter Storm” live?
T: We are planning at the moment together with the record company to do a lot of promotion for the album and to visit as many places as possible. Immediately after the promo-trips, we are going to do few shows before the end of the year. Is a bit too early to say where we will go first. Anyway a much longer tour will start in the first quarter of 2008 and I don’t have plans to leave any place out of it.
DP: We can expect that you will play songs from your new album in these concerts, but will you also perform some songs from your past?
T: I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t. As you correctly said, is part of my past. Even though I have moved on, I can still enjoy of the music that I have done for many years. I already performed songs that I recorded with Nightwish in some of my recent concerts. Songs like Gethsemane, Angels fall first, Phantom of the opera, Walking in the air and Beauty of the beast. I will probably perform also some other songs that I particularly like. We’ll see.
So this was the second part.
There is still one more part to be posted, but I’ll do it later.

It’s nice to see blue has left you, and this album is bringing joy to your life.
The happiness you and your band mates express in the pictures is a positive sign of ‘chemistry’. When you mix that with talent and charisma, only good things can be expected from an album.
Plus, I receive this great news that you will mostly use your lyrical voice, that’s always appreciated by old NW fans.

Hi Tarja
I just read your new blog and I see that you are going on tour after the release of your new album. Thats great I would love to go see you live. I have heard some of the new songs from your album and they are amazing. I am planning on buying versions 1 and 2 of your single and the album when they are released. If you can try to make a stop in Calgary , Alberta , Canada so I can see your show. Since most of the music I listen to comes from Europe I don’t get a chance to see any of the bands that I like. Mostly just mainstream bands that get lots of radio play. Which is why I don’t listen to the radio very much and I buy lots of DVD’s for concerts that I want to see and CD’s of music that I enjoy but that might be the reason bands like yours and many others don’t come to western Canada because great bands like yours are so different from mainstream music that you don’t get played on local large radio stations. So you might not have the fan base here to have a huge concert here. I don’t know? All I know is that if you came here I would be first in line for tickets but if you can’t I will just have to wait for the DVD release from your tour and watch that.
