Hi!
Vor einigen Tagen hatte ich eine tolle Zeit in den Finnvox Studios in Helsinki mit meiner lieben Freundin Izumi Kawakatsu.
Wir haben vor einigen Jahren zusammen an der Musikuniversität in Karlsruhe, Deutschland, studiert und auch ein paar Touren mit meiner klassischen Gruppe „Noche Escandinava“ gemacht.
Wir haben oft davon geträumt auch jenseits des klassischen Genres zusammenzuarbeiten und jetzt haben wir es endlich geschafft.
Izumi hat die Klavierparts für drei meiner Lieder aufgenommen; „Oasis“, „Boy and the Ghost“ und „Minor Heaven“.
Ich bin wirklich glücklich, sie auf diesem Album zu haben, denn sie hat wirklich ein besonderes Talent und man kann ihre Seele in ihrer Musik fühlen.
Sogar der Aufnahmetechniker sagte, dass er noch nie ein so gutes Klavierspiel gehört hat!

Ich liebe die Mischung auf „My Winter Storm“. Klassische Musiker spielen in Songs mit hartem Gitarrensound, während Rockmusiker sich in sanften Liedern einbringen. Jazz, Funk und Chill Out verschmelzen und bilden den Hintergrund für meine Stimme.
Ich sollte auch eine Liste der verschiedenen Nationalitäten zusammenschreiben, die an den Aufnahmen dieses Albums beteiligt sind…ebenfalls eine Art und Weise Farben und Stilrichtungen zu kombinieren. Musik ist wirklich eine universelle Sprache und „My Winter Storm“ ist der Beweis dafür ☺
Diese Woche werde ich nach Zürich fliegen. Dort werde ich den dritten Gastmusiker treffen, der meinem Album seine persönliche Note verleihen wird.
Ich habe seine Arbeit schon viele Jahre verfolgt (in über 100 Filmen) und ich bewundere ihn wirklich. Er war der erste Musiker, mit dem ich zusammen arbeiten wollte, als ich damit begonnen hatte „My Winter Storm“ vorzubereiten. Ich freue mich sehr darüber, dass dies nun klappen wird.
ABER ihr müsst euch wieder etwas gedulden, bis ich euch den Namen verrate
