Lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year 2008
Hello my friends,
It has been a while since I got any time to write to you. I am truly sorry for that 
There has been many people already requesting me to do this… so now when I finished my interviews for today (in the car on my way home from the airport), I am finally free.
So this is the first thing and last 
that I am doing before officially starting my holidays!!
I came back to Finland after magnificent tour just a couple of hours ago. It feels good to be back at home. The last concert in London gave us just amazing end for it.
Everything worked perfect during the concert and we just had a lot of fun. It has been interesting for us to see that every concert has felt better than the previous one for us as musicians. Getting more and more into the spirit of the songs and being able to make a stronger connection with the fans every time.
Anyway, the feeling was quite sad after the last concert because we truly are going to miss each other. There was something very special going on for 4 weeks among us. Everybody agrees on that.
It has been very unusual for me to be saluted every day by everybody involved in the shows (production, crew, musicians) with hugs and kisses same way that every night after the day was over.
No ass faces around, just smiles and laughter. No silence and indifference, but warmness, long chats and stories of every kind and true interest.
Above all, respect within the group of people for everybody’s work and music.
None of us needed to be dragged into a hotel room after alcohol overdoses
Is very unique the feeling of looking into the eyes of the people working with you and finding there honesty.
These Warm Up concerts were a great Xmas present for all of us.
But this is just the beginning for something else to come. We are going to work together once again pretty soon, so we just have to be patient.
I will miss the jokes of Mike, hugs and laughter of Alex, positive vibes of Doug, great girl chats with Maria, serious conversations with Max and Markus and sister kind of love of my own brother Toni. Thank you all!
Without forgetting the whole amazing crew: Antti, Hemi, Pete, Tommi and Cedric and my friend Heidi. Without you there would not be any shows and I wouldn’t be able to sing my music to anybody. A big thanks you for your efforts and understanding!
The tour has been fantastic, seriously. I have never felt happier. The band, the music, the crew, the travelling, the fans…everything just great.
This whole year has been a good year for me as an artist but also as a person. I have gained pretty much self-confidence, but most of all I have enjoyed to be an artist on my own. The success feels now very personal and every tiny positive thing means to me a lot more than before.
Here go the last 3 pictures taken of the band after the London show and before catching our respective flights back home.
During the tour, it was decided that there would be soon a new single available: Die Alive.
So we pushed things back and forward until we “created” a spot when to shoot the video for the song.
Last December 9th, we flew to Berlin just for that. This happened a day after my concert in Kuusankoski, Finland and a day before the concert in Cologne, Germany.
So it was a lot of travelling and very little time to sleep.
We were supposed to have a dinner that night with some fans in Cologne, so at the very last minute we decided to invite them to the set rather than to cancel the whole thing.
They can testify the conditions I was facing during that one night of the video shootings ☺
It was “pretty” cold and wet day and since we were shooting outside, I was really nervous to get sick. We had some problems with the generators, we were not having any electricity and the darkness surrounded us for almost 2 hours! That was pretty funny for everybody. The shootings started at 14:00 pm and lasted until 07:30 next morning. On that day I flew to Cologne and had a show at night. After the show in Cologne we travelled very early in the morning to Paris and had a show on that night there. Basically I didn’t sleep for 3 days! I wonder how on earth I was able to stay awake and to make these shows happen I guess the reason is YOU.
The video is ready now and it looks great, so I hope everybody of you will enjoy it.
I am sure that soon it will be announced in mywinterstorm.com when you will be able to see it.
But here I can show you some photos we took on that day.

Soon it’s Christmas. It sounds so weird to me, since I haven’t got any time to think about it (nor buying presents to anyone), but I am very happy to celebrate the Xmas with my family.
But we thought of giving you a present so we filmed and recorded the show in Kuusankoski. As soon as it is ready, we will upload it in our web pages and fans pages for you to watch it.

Hey Tarja, happy to see a new entry finally. I’m really curious about the Die Alive video, thanks so much for the photos… I have to say that you don’t really look very tired or stressed… just as beautiful as always… weird, I’m used to look like a monster after only 24 hours without sleep.
I was also surprised when I heard after the concert in Cologne that you didn’t sleep before, because it was such an amazing and powerful show. I’ve been there and I have to confess that it was one of the most excellent concerts I’ve ever been, and believe me, I’ve seen plenty of concerts. It was my first time to see you live and I was touched so deeply by your voice… almost made me cry when you sang Our Great Divide and Oasis. Thanks so much for this experience.

Very nice as well that we get to see the whole Kuusankoski gig, i shouldn’t be watching though, cause I got exams in the next few weeks.

Well hello Tarja
I am so glad you had a chance to talk about the last several concerts and how they went and how you are much happier. I am still listening to your cd and am impressed of how you interpret each songs. I still listen to the old NW songs because it isn’t the same when (new singer) sings them. Love the photos. Get some well deserved rest (3 days of no sleep) can be hard on the body mentally and physically.

Some people call me crazy because of listening to christmas songs in my summer holidays, but who cares… I just love your voice and it’s like a drug to me… no-one can do without his “drug” because of seasons

Thank you for returning to your Winter Storm and your efforts to make all this happen! Thank you for the opportunity to meet you and and Marcello, it was a great time in Berlin! Thank you for the best show ever. And as somebody else allready said: Hell, I have been to a lot of shows before. But nearly none of them could compete to your perfect mixture of beautyfull sounds and rock and the most gifted voice on earth.
Just one other thought at the end, which allready some people share since they seen you at the warm up: Please, make a dvd out of the show! The old songs with new sound were great, the band and the emotions fantastic. So archive these great moments for all of your fans. But of course, first of it all thank you again for the idea of a web based video to share this moment again and again…

Hi Tarja!
Maybe it would be ridiculous for you, but I’ve shouted when I saw in my RSS’s reading that you had updated your blog and I ran to read you. Well, every time you tell us about your shows and your feelings about the amazing experiences, I feel more eager to be able to listen to yourself in a concert. I just hope that the time passes rapidly and the date in which you will visit us in Mexico comes finally.
I must say you that is very nice for your fans (or at least for my) read about your happiness, about your satisfaction for what you’ve lived the year that is endind and for the success that you have reached, because this are things that makes us happy to know about the people whom one loves and cares, so then you don’t know us really, we admire you and love you for what you give us with your voice and your songs.
Finally I just want wish you happy holidays in company of the people that you love, and that next year brings you many more happy moments and satisfactions that this.

I am very impatient to see you again on tour. I am not sure that you will propose VIP packages once again but if you do so, I would be interested in it again because time has passed too much faster on that morning of dec 12th. I’d like to meet you again. You brought me happiness and the concert and that morning made me getting out of reality. It was like dreaming awaken.

It has happend ! I was on your concert in London and l still can’t believe in it. It was the best expirience in my life . Thank you so much for this .The show was simply amazing , i can’t describe it . I noticed there that you’ve got something like “inner devine”:P and it was visable that you feel all what you sing . This concert surpassed all my expections.. I love you , your band , and whole crew .
Anyway it is great message about the video for “Die alive ” ( i love this song so mach… well like all yours) so i can’t wait to watch this .

I have a degree from university so don’t tell I have no brains. By the way I don’t drink myself but that doesn’t mean that I say that all people who drink are “ass faces”. And Tarja herself isn’t really a saint. Go read the official biography – after their first show Tarja and one other girl did a striptease show for the guys and the guys filmed it. The guys later deleted it to hide the video from fans.

It is amazing what you do for us – your winterstorm will alway hold you awake – and we all can feel blessed. And you have really got an awesome band as support – they are just cool (and I love Doug’s “box of miracles” with his effects – his Wah is just so(!) cool!)

I notice in one of the pictures from the Die Alive videoshoot that your hand is bleeding…I hope that was just make-up and that you didn’t actually hurt yourself! If you did hurt yourself, I hope it wasn’t serious and that it gets better soon!

Kiitos tuhannesti Tarja sekä konsertistasi Kuusankoskella sekä kuulumisistasi! Ihana kuulla, että sulla menee hyvin! Monet kuusankoskelaiset on ollut täällä kiitollisia siitä, että tulit konsertoimaan tänne. Mahtavaa kuulla myös miten muualla meni! Sain tässä joululahjaksi albumisi, joka ei alunperin ollut toivelistallani, mutta tuli sinne heti konsertin jälkeen! Aivan mahtava albumi, ihan kylmät väreet menee sitä kuunnellessa!! Dear Tarja,
Oh how much I enjoyed your show in Amsterdam on the 13th. My god, it was such an amazing show, really (as many people before me have said) one of the best I have seen. I am so greatful you chose to sing The Reign. I was realy surprised because it was not on the setlist we photographed at the beginning of the show
You made me cry!
I can’t explain in words, but your music touches me in my heart and soul.
It gives me the strength to go on at the harder days, and only brings more joy to the happy ones. Your voice realy is like hearing an angel.
Keep up the good work Tarja, don’t ever stop singing! I hope to enjoy your music for many many years to come

I hope this will bring a smile on your face???
your concert was so amazing, you totally rocked! I could really see and feel how happy you are! I was almost going to cry during all those beautiful songs like Oasis, Sing For Me, The Reign (THANK YOU BY THE WAY FOR SINGING THE REIGN, WE WERE SOOO HAPPY) and Our Great Divide, but I was soo happy, that the only thing I could do was just smile! I have smiled the whole time! even my cheeks hurt the next day!
it was a bit sad that after the concert we had such little time together! but no matter how short the time is that I can spend with you, every second is so special to me!

Hi!I just watched the Die Alive video. In my opinion the beginning is not good (doesn’t match the rhythm at all) but as soon as you wore the dress and started singing, well, I really enjoyed!
Much better than the previous video in my opinion. And great song of course.

Fijo igual. Haciendo referencias hacia el pasado con frases como “No caras tristes ni silencio incómodo” Bla, bla, bla, bla. Que uno lo exprese en la música, pasa, son sentimientos. Pero que seas falsa en las entrevistas promocionales y que seas una manipuladora aquí es lo que te está dando la fama que te mereces. Este comentario va también por la chorrada de “Die Alive” sobre los que están muertos en vida.
