new album
My friends,
Happy 2009!
In the last months I’ve been writing a lot of music for my new album.
It has been a pleasure for me to work with great talents like Kiko, Michelle, Mattias, Anders, Torsten, Angela, Adrian, Alex, Eric, Alex, Chisu, Johan, Harry, Hanne, Martin and Bart.
Song writing is always an amazing learning experience and it has been a pleasure to discus music with different people.
The album process is still going on and I have more songs that are in the working. It is sounding very promising. The songs are absolutely more mature, wild, and emotional and they sound more me, if I can say so 
The biggest difference in preparing this new album is that I will be taking the time that I need until the songs are in a shape that I am happy with. No matter how long it takes. I want it to be perfect for me. No hurry; no pressure.
I promise to tell you more about the songs later.
I am already thinking about doing some special concerts during this year beside the ones with my own band. So I hope I can tell more about them too soon.
Today I decided the set list for USA & Canada. You can expect also many changes and surprises for the South American shows in Mexico, Venezuela and Argentina. Looking forward to be on stage again!!!!
With My Winter Storm I chose the name of the album in the early stages and that helped me to create the concept for the album.
With the new album I decided to do it the same way, so I searched for an inspiring title and all the songs are one way or another related to it.
So I leave you now with the working title of my new album:
“What Lies Beneath”

I hope see you soon live in Guadalajara again, the concert on August 2008 was amazing, in many songs I was crying because of the big emotion, I never imagined see you live and listening to you beautiful voice.
Feels good know that you are working in your new album and I can´t wait to hear the new songs. Take the enough time for each song is the best until you are satisfied , I know will be an amazing album. Tarja, you are a very talented woman. By the way, “What Lies Beneath” is a very interesting title.

Oh, it’s great. This title is so promising and interesting!!!! I understand that You don’t want to hurry up, but I must say I’ll be very very impatient… I think this album must be ideal because it’ll be Your album;-) And what about this “polish” project? With soundtracks? I’m really interested in that since I’m from Poland… Maybe You’ll visit Your fans in my country???

que felicidad saber que estas trabajando mucho en tu nuevo álbum.. su nombre revela que va a estar lleno de sensaciones y cosas nuevas… Estoy absolutamente segura de me va a gustar mas aún que My Winter Storm.

Fui a tu recital, mi primer recital y fue lo mejor que me paso, verte ahí, toda la emoción, adrenalina, todo. Y después verte en la Conferencia acá en Buenos aires fue grandioso, son esas cosas que uno no va a olvidar jamás. Y gracias a Gabriela Sisti también que ya se lo agradecí miles de veces, que gracias a ella pude estar ahí
Hermosas las fotos. Me alegra mucho que estés recorriendo nuestro país.

Uhmm…. “What Lies Beneath”…. For me this title expresses kind of pure feelings, so it sounds promising. I imagine it even more intense than My Winter Storm, in every way, extremly sad, wild and calm. I hope I am right!

I would just like to say thank you for all the beautiful music you have ever made. My family has been going through a tough time right now my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. A lot of doctors have not been too positive about the whole thing. My sister who is 4 is probably going to have to have brain surgery to stop her from having seizures. Anyways i just want to say that your music touches my heart everyday. All of the songs are so amazing to me. they take me to a whole new world and for awhile i forget about all the problems in life. I used to be somone who loved singers like Britney spears which i still do. But you have made me realize the true beauty of music. Thank you thank you! so much I honestly can not wait for your new album its going to be Beautiful.

Can’t register in your official forum (my e-mail’s bunned – that’s unreal!), so I have to write here.
At first – I love your personality, talent and charisma since I’ve listened to “Once” album, I think these qualities will be my everlast love. I’ll try to be short: please never forget Nightwish songs like “Astral Romance”, “Sleeping Sun”, “Sacrament Of Wilderness”, “Feel For You”, “The Siren”, “Know Why The Nightingale Sings”… Please believe me I know what I say. These were your greatest songs and I miss them SO much when I watch your up-to-date performances. Holopainen became a past and people must bury their past, but these songs were written just like for you – they are eternal.
I still can’t believe that such a beautiful time has passed away… I love your soft rock and classical ballads so much but I will never forget the Power, the Beauty and the Stateliness of You in Nightwish. I will love them forever.
Now the band has changed (sooo badly, hah), you have changed too (you became so beautiful and stylish) – but that eternal music must BE performed. Performed only by You.
I wish only the best for you, I’m not a blinded fan and I hope that it could increase the magnificence of your conserts. I hope also you have copyright for that songs. To listen to them now, again… oh, it would be so magic feeling! Your voice has became much better since 1998.
P.S. I have no really friends at all, It’s a pity. But I’d like to have a friend like you. You’re great woman, great singer… just Great.
P.P.S. “Enough” rocks! Such a good song!! And… a right song too. But your better work, your masterpiece for me is still… “Oceanborn” album. Can’t live, can’t breath without these 11 songs of life, love and death.

How are you doing today? I am getting more and more curious, anxious and thrilled to hear some news of you again! As I said before, What Lies Beneath sounds really interesting, and it is a good title because it makes people very curious!!! And it made me curious too!!
I hope the songwriting goes fine and YES, DO TAKE YOUR TIME!!! Only when you think it is finished, and YOU are happy about it, I am happy too!!! I don’t want you to bring out an album where YOU don’t feel happy and good about… And I hope you can tell us more about the album on your next post!
I have been watching your Kuusankoski show a lot lately and also other live video’s on youtube. And there is one video where you sing “Enough” and you look so strong!!! Even angry! And you sing it so powerful! It gives me goose bumps every time!!
Right now I am making a new video about you.. It takes a lot of time, but I want it to be perfect, and right.
If you are planning or concidering with your promoters to come to Holland again, (maybe in the fall, or winter… or summer??) I hope you will have a VIP package again! Because the first time, I was just so overwhelmed and I did not tell you all that I wanted to tell… and now I have met you several times, I guess it will be easier now to open up more. But anyhow, during the vip dinner you gave me a good feeling and I got more relaxed… Hope to do it over again sometime!!
Maybe it will be a great idea to gather a filmcrew and make somekind of a documentary/Album making progress/behind the scenes/concert tour video????????

Aaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! Will it be really baptized “What Lies Beneath”? Oh, it’s an absolutely perfect name!!! =o) I thought that it couldn’t be better than “My Winter Storm”, because I love snow and winter and especially pale-blue colour, but… Now I’m so happy, I’ve just read it and it seems like a very deep name. 0=o) And the deepest things are the best things, aren’t they? ;o) I hope this new CD will be soon there; now I’m listening to Boy And The Ghost and it’s also beautiful (my favourite is My Little Phoenix and Minor Heaven too =o) )…
