Piano Recordings
Hi!
Few days ago I had a great time at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki with my dear friend Izumi Kawakatsu.
We were studying at the same time in the university of music in Karlsruhe, Germany some years ago and we have also made together a couple of tours with my classical line up called “Noche Escandinava”.
We dreamed many times to work together beside the classical music field, and finally, we made it.
Izumi recorded the piano parts for three of my songs; “Oasis”, “Boy and the Ghost” and “ Minor Heaven”.
I was very happy to have her playing on this album because she really has special talent and you can feel her soul in the way she plays.
Even the recording engineer of the studio said that he has never heard that piano sounding so good!

I love the combination of colours of My Winter Storm. Classical musicians playing in songs with distorted guitars, heavy musicians performing soft climax parts; jazz, funk or chill out roots melting together and creating a score for my voice.
I should also prepare a list of nationalities involved in this album recordings…other way of combining colours and flavours.
As they say, music is an universal language … and My Winter Storm to prove it 
The flight of this week will take me to Zürich.
This time to meet the third guest musician that will offer his personal touch for my album.
I have been following his work for many years (in over one hundred films) and I really admire him.
He was the first musician I had in mind when I started to prepare MWS and I am very exited to be able to work with him.
BUT again, you will need to wait a bit for his name 
In the meantime, here go another lines of lyrics.

But, more than that, a German film composer on your album… that’s more than great!

I’m a great fan of yours and of your work!
I am the lead singer of a progressive metal band called Osmium(recently we made a concert with Symphony X in Porto Alegre), from Brazil and even being myself a male singer your work inspires me very much!
I’ve been having some problems on stage recently because I can’t sing as well as in the studio and can’t apply the plain technique live. I wonder if this is a problem that will end with some more stage experiences and I wonder if someday you had the same problem.

Is your guest musician swiss or you’ll just happen to meet there? You said you’ve been following his job for many years and that he’s responsible for the scores of over a hundred films… John Williams comes to my mind (and I’d DIE if it turned out to be him the musician you’re talking about, I’m a lover of his music), but what are the odds??
The more you talk about the album and the universal fusion of sounds you’re creating in there, the less I can wait to have it in my CD player, blowing my brain cells away!
When’s the album’s due date? September? I can’t remember anymore! :s

I’m really intrigued by the snippets of lyrics! I feel excited and not at all aprehensive about the new music. Nightwish took a sharp left turn with a nose-dive into mainstream and lost me. With your talent and versitile voice, it can only mean a fantastic album is coming! I look forward to hearing samples and ultimately owning my own CD! Interesting and various business for you. You it is finite not the first musician traveling on studio in the different countries, but all the same. Ireland, Spain, Germany … and it meanwhile not tour. There is one more paradise earth. At first the God held him for itself. To whom and as He has given this place, I can tell, if want. (I Hope, you can find out mine e-mail from administration of this blog. At myself I laugh when I represent that you could send me the letter.) This place is allocated at sea coast (jellyfishes very little), air and mountain landscapes bewitch and excite. I don`t know, whether there is there sound recording studio, but the local Chapel, usually, gives concerts in a Cathedral of 10 centuries.

In the last post I have read, the musical styles enumerated by you, and I had a question which disturbs me for a long time. Tarja, write please, whether will be MWS a conceptual album, or CD becomes a certain trial of your talent in different styles? Hi Tarja! Thanks for the update! I’m really excited about your new album! To tell you the truth I think it sounds even more promising than the new Nightwish album.
I wonder who the guests are on My Winter Storm. I’ve always dreamed of hearing you sing a duet with Ville Valo but I don’t know if that will ever happen. I truly hope it will one day. You two are my favourite singers!

Hi Tarja;
You know Tarja, I really can’t wait now for, “My Winter Storm”, to be released.
With every entry in this blog it sounds more and more intriguing. I thought that, “Breath From Heaven”, was increadibly varied.But with all the influences and musical styles you are now using,this album sounds like you have surpassed that, which is something I would have thought would have been near impossible.
Again, more great and beguielling song titles, and with your pianist from, “Noche Eskandinavia”, (I love those recordings) playing on them, it just gets better and better.
First you have used a producer who is used to producing the sound tracks for movies, and now you are bringing someone in who has written for film scores, this is starting to sound pretty epic in its scope.
As I have said Tarja, I can’t wait to hear the album !
Anyway onto other things.
Sorry to keep asking this Tarja but could you please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please…………………..ever so pretty please………….please write up here which tv channel and programme the U.K. tv crew were from that interviewed you in Ireland. All of us U.K. fans would hate to miss it when it is broadcast !
Finally Tarja, I was looking through my printouts from this blog and one thing touched me greatly.

Hello Tarja.
Here, on a blog, people guess, to what film composer you will go in Zurich. I will tell fortunes too from your permission. This site is established and for this purpose? If you, Tarja, in last post meant Hans Zimmer, I respect your choice. I have found out about existence of music Zimmer only today. Has looked here and there on the Internet, has listened … It seemed to me, that on style this music is too popular. Hits from her certainly will make. But, in my opinion, you have suited more serious and deep music more (isn’t that so ridiculously, whence I know it?). From the composers writing for cinema, in my opinion, with Vangelis you it is easier to present. Listen on his CD “EL Greco” to a song number 4 for an example. Already more than 10 years all his music is very good. It would be interesting, if you with him sometime have recorded something. If to you, Tarja, the hit in style rock is necessary, “the oracle speaks” that you could address to Brian May (Queen). He too for cinema wrote also studio at Queen in Montreux on Lake Geneva. Through all Switzerland to go from Zurich, but it is logical (ha-ha). His song “Too much love will kill you” on CD “Back to the light” – my favourite. […] I will not continue further the list of musicians, I hope, that you wrote not about Frank Duval (at him too many films).
