Recordings in Finland
Hi again.
As I told you before, I was recording more vocals in Finland last week, but this time at Petrax Studios in Hollola.
Again the producer Daniel and recording engineer Doug were there with me. The location of the studio is really nice and quiet, in the countryside of Finland.
It was great to be working in a place with no disturbances. The studio is part of a farm and the hospitality of the owners was just so warm and kind. I recorded 4 songs there all together: The Reign, Boy and the Ghost, Oasis and the only cover song of this album session. I will keep the name of the song for myslef at the moment.
We spent one day for that song with hundreds of backing vocals. My friends came to help me to the studio.
Here is Tea, who has been recording some stuff with me already before and my brother Toni whose heavy tenor voice gave a special colour to the song.
They did together just amazing job! Even Daniel sang with us in this one!
The song sounds really great and we are very happy. The day itself was very long, but the results are speaking!
Thank you so much Tea and Toni for your effort and talent.
We found out that the acoustics of the studio room itself was not exactly what I was looking for my vocals in some songs, so we ended up recording in the garage, just behind the real studio! Very glamorous… 
But the sound was excellent. We were really lucky to find this place!
I am back in LA where we are mixing the album and where I am finishing the rest of my vocals. Soon all this will see its end! Can’t wait…
You can imagine Gold and Multiple Platinum records hanging on the walls of Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control. And in fact they are hanging on the walls…the toilet’s walls! I needed to get in the men’s toilet to take some pictures, as many of my favourite soundtracks are there.

You’ll be able to tell your grandchildren one day that you were the only artist in the world to record an album in the strangest places ever. A garage…?! I thought only Indie artists did that! You should complain with Universal!! LOL!
I’m very intrigued about the cover… could you at least tell us if it is a popular song or is it something you once heard and wanted to record? Does it have something to do with your recent past?
I think the best part of this whole process wasn’t only working with people you admired, but also with your friends… I bet recording the cover with your mates was the funniest part of the whole journey!
Well dahlin’, I hope you have a good time finishing your album!! It’s almost born… yay!!

I am glad to see here your new post through short time after previous. Thanks you for the presented good mood. I too laughed, and have then thought. The photo in garage can be fine draw. Though, from the point of view of acoustics, in garage the sound happens better, than in the big rectangular empty room.
And now I will run to complete the work on design of premises for the client. Now these rooms are similar to that part of “your” garage which is not visible in your photo. I wish you all the best.

Per mia enorme sfortuna non conosco l’inglese e sono costretta a scrivere in italiano, con la speranza di riuscire lo stesso a farmi capire.
A me piacevano molto i nightwish, ma senza quella voce stupenda non me la sento più di ascoltarli. Mi piacerebbe molto risentire quella voce insieme a una musica aggressiva come quella dei nightwish e così volevo sapere qualche informazione sul nuovo cd di tarja..

Nice pictures……..To sing in a garage sounds great. I know, because I did it too, but only for myself and fun. It resound so lovely. Am I right?

Tarja, I don’t want to inconvenience with that message, but recently I read an interview with Tuomas Holopainen, that said that it tried contact with you through text messages, but you had not answered, and he also said in the interview that hopes to have your friendship again.
Tarja I love a lot you, I began to like of Nightwish through your candy and charming voice, I was very disappointed when I was knowing that they had dismissed you of the band, for that, as a fan impassioned by you, and for Nightwish (while you were the vocal), I ask lowly that are friends again…
